River Jack Attack
Jack crevalles are
like underrated prize fighters - they always put on a great show
but get none of the press.
Jacks are not the number one target of most anglers.
They just sort of "happen." And when they do it's hard to resist stopping
to have some fun. That's what happened when captains Dennis Royston and Frank
Bourgeois hosted Bitetracker Babes Marilijn and Jennifer on a trip out of the
Cotee River in New Port Richey. While heading out to the lush grass flats near
the river's mouth, a school of jacks exploded, with fish nearly jumping into the
back of the boat at one point. Royston and Bourgeois took the opportunity to
introduce our babes to what pound for pound is one of the toughest fish we have
in coastal and backwaters. |
